Larry Smith has designed and built custom homes, cabins, and shops in Homer AK for more than three decades.  Silver Spruce Construction is a family business, dedicated to building high quality, energy efficient houses and other structures in Alaska, while keeping the customers' costs to a minimum.  We specialize in timberframe construction, also known as post and beam, but also build standard frame structures.   Unlike other builders, we do not charge extra for timber frame construction, and we may be the only timber frame builders in Homer using long timbers, the most suitable design for local spruce.  We are workers and managers, not contractors. This site includes pictures of a representative sample of buildings, including a round timber frame, a home constructed of extra massive timbers, a timber frame with two half-round turrets, a workshop with a forty foot open span, a timber frame entry, and two standard frame construction houses located downtown.  (Contact information)
